Rainin Foundation Awards $1.3 Million in Arts and Education Grants

The Kenneth Rainin Foundation has approved $1.3 million in grants to Bay Area organizations.

In Arts, the Foundation awarded $550,000 in grants to support 20 small and mid-size Bay Area arts organizations that are investigating new ideas and producing experimental works in dance, theater and multidisciplinary performing arts. This latest round of grantmaking, approved in May, also included $750,000 in Education grants to four organizations and schools that are committed to ensuring that Oakland children are ready for school and reading on grade level reading by third grade.
