GOT40? Have you heard? GOT40 is the new, easier-to-use name for the 40 Developmental Assets. Campaign Steering Committee member, Ned Russell, developed a strategy to implement a 30-day media blitz throughout the community. Initially, only a small amount of basic information will be provided in the media messages. The name will be posted on the Union website, table-tops, on flyers, and the radio to generate the curiousity in people who are not familiar with the concept. All media tools will direct people to the GOT 40 webpage which will only have a small amount of information as well. This campaign will lead up to the Training of the Trainers workshop to be provided sometime in November. If you would like to be trained again or for the first time, please contact us. Ned Russell generously represented GOT 40 at the Day of the Young Child at Sierra College over the weekend. Contact us if you would like to volunteer at future GOT40 activities or if you are interested in becoming a 40 Asset Trainer. |

Asset Tip:
InterpersonalCompetence: Learning to walk in other people's shoes... Most young people know how to make friends. They notice when something bad happens to a friend, and when someone is acting differently. Empathy—one of the most important social and emotional skills—doesn’t come naturally to everyone. |
