30 TEENS VOLUNTEER AT THE 2009 FAIR BOOTH
The Coalition's Nevada County Fair booth was a great success and continues to improve each year,
thanks to the help of local teen volunteers and other Coalition members. Teen volunteers ranging from Juvenile Drug Court teens, local bands, and many other NEO members showed up to draw people in to fill out adult and teen surveys.
Many collaborative coalition partners also came out to support the booth including: Vicki Downs with Falcon Financial; DVSAC; Shannon Glaz and Felicia Sobonya with Public and Behavioral Health; Becka Callahan from CoRR; Chuck Coovert from CAPC; and Georgie Coulter from the JJDPC and Blockbuster.

PARTNERSHIP WITH N.U. MINERS AND JR. MINERS
Thanks to the Retired NFL Players Association of Northern California, the Jr. Miners, NEO, CoRR and CoRR Alumni, the NFL BBQ was a great success with a huge turnout. The retired NFL players engaged with kids and families from Nevada County and other surrounding counties by telling motivational stories and encouraging goal-setting and positive choices. The Coalition and CoRR Alumni provided free food and educational handouts to families. This was a perfect opportunity to introduce the coalition to a new target group.
The Coalition will collaborate with the Jr. Miners to provide a joint event in 2010.
