New Local Area Youth Prevention Leaders! We've been fortunate over the last couple of years to have two amazing youth prevention leaders, Lynn Skrukrud and Halli Ellis. The examples they've set in their pioneering work establishing NEO as a new generation of youth leading positiive, fun and drug free lifestyles paves the way for six new recently appointed youth coordinators. Lynn and Halli will continue in their leadership roles within NEO and the NEO school clubs with the assistance of two new youth coordinators that are soon to be announced. We're excited to introduce AJ Landry, 16 and Josh Denkert, 17 as the new Coalition Youth Coordinators. AJ and Josh have jumped in and are currently working on putting together the first issue of the new "NEO News" monthly online newsletter. AJ attended his first youth leadership training in Chico with Friday Night Live where he learned about how youth make a difference in preventing underage drinking. Georgia Wilson and Austin Fields, both 17, also join as new youth coordinators working with Pastor Randy Fields at the new Friday night Overtime activities.
Overtime is the the new Friday Night youth center for all local area students grades six through twelve. Designed to be a safe place for students to come and have a great time, hang with friends, play games on state of the art new gaming systems, videos and board games. Special shows are planned with NEO and live bands. A snack bar will be open each night and prizes will be given throughout the night as incentives for participation. Each night there will be adult volunteers working to create a safe and caring environment... There will be a monitored check in/check out process . The first Overtime begins on Friday November 13th at Park Ave. School Gymnasium from 8:00 pm until 11:00.

Work together to make a difference for young people: You are not alone. Raising young people takes a group effort and everyone—parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, teachers, friends, clergy, coaches—play an important role. There are people, places, and resources everyone can turn to when help is needed to support young people. |
