Sorry for the confusion: See start times below.

Hi Everyone,

Basketball will be held at the Middleton District Administration Center (DAC) Gym, (7106 South Street Middleton) at the following times on Sundays.

Basketball Skills:         3-4
Team Basketball Level 1: 3-4:30
Advanced Basketball Team Level 2: 5:00-6:30

Basketball Skills
Basketball skills are offered for those athletes that are not able (or have no desire) to play team basketball. This sport is comprised of three events, shooting, dribbling and target passing. Athletes are scored for each activity and a combined score is totaled. Athletes wishing to compete will be entered into a regional tournament that takes place on February 26, 2010 in Lake Geneva.

Basketball skills will take place as the same time as the lower skills level Team 1. This will allow the newer athletes participate in both skills and try to play team as they evaluate which they prefer. Depending on the number of athletes, we may have to push the start time back a bit.

Team Basketball
Team basketball is offered for those athletes with a desire to take their basketball skills to a new level.  We will have two teams with two skill levels: a high skill team (level 2) that is will be selected based on ability, and a second team (level 1) that will place more of an emphasis on learning team basketball as well as continuing skill development.

Practice times for Level 1 with will be 3:00 to 4:30 PM on Sunday nights.  If this is your first year playing you should plan on coming to this practice. Level 1 Players from last year (Chad’s team) should come to this practice.

Practice times for Level 2 with Don will be 5:00 to 6:30 PM on Sunday nights. Level 2 Players from last year and more experienced players should come to this practice.

Please note: There is high level of commitment required to play team basketball. Practices are mandatory and we will have several out of town tournaments that require drivers. Both teams will participate this year in the following out of town tournaments:

Jan 31: Fort Atkinson
Feb 13: La Crosse
Feb 20: Eau Claire (this one is still not confirmed)
Mar 13: Platteville

We will also set up scrimmages with closer groups such as Madison West, Verona and Oregon.
