June 30-Aug 29: Grebel Center for Dance's Summer Senior Ballet Intensive training offers exciting insights into the Vaganova method of classical ballet that is fun and energizing! Summer Intensives are for intermediate to advanced ballet students, ages 12 & up, en pointe. Summer faculty includes Stevan Grebel, Deborah Grebel, Amanda Willis-Brice, Tatiana Ledovskihk, Lisette Benefield, Ana Lejava and Elisabeth Archer. They may be taken as full sessions or weekly. Daily classes are available by a class card. Junior Camp Intensives are for ages 7-12 and offer a variety of dance styles to complement the study of classical ballet. The Princesses and Princes Camps are for ages 3-6 and each week includes a theme with fun-filled days of dancing, story-time, crafts and more!

July 7-July 28: Back by popular demand is Children’s Dance Foundation's summer contemporary dance series taught by CDF and guest teaching artists. Advanced level ages 15 and up. July 7-18: The Alabama School of Fine Arts' Young Dancer Intensive on July 7-18 offers an excellent opportunity for younger students to experience a sample of ASFA dance training under the instruction ASFA's professional dance faculty. For 5th-8th graders with 2 years ballet training required. The Monday - Friday class will provide strong training in ballet technique and other dance forms. Students must attend both weeks. Lunch and snack provided. Registration is now open online. Tuition: $550. 50% is required to register.

July 11-Aug 8: Sanspointe Dance Company will host a summer choreographic salon series in the theater at the Community Arts Space (Children’s Dance Foundation) in Homewood, AL on the 2nd Friday of June, July, & August at 6:00pm. Choreographers and audiences will have a meeting of the minds through the performance event followed by an intellectually guided discussion forum.

Dances are limited to a 10 minute maximum duration and must be movement-based. Each screening of work will be limited to 6 choreographers. Each evening will include a feedback session moderated by current company members of Sanspointe.

July 13: Les Twins, Beyonce's featured, male, French dancers will be in Birmingham to conduct workshops for kids and adults on Sunday July 13, 2014. Check out the video of the twins with Sarah Van Patten and Dores Andre of the San Francisco Ballet. Click the link below for more information and to register online for the workshop.

July 21-Aug 1: Session I: July 21-25. Session II: July 28-Aug 1. Does your little one dance around the house pretending to be Cinderella or the Sugarplum Fairy? Is "Barbie Swan Lake" in heavy rotation on your DVD player? Then Tutus & Tiaras is for you! For one week, four hours a day, children ages 4- 7 will take age appropriate ballet and tap classes, create ballet-oriented crafts and learn how ballet dancers tell stories with pantomime. During these four hours, the children will also have a story time where they can learn the story of ballets such as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, The Sleeping Beauty and other classical ballets. They will need to bring a sack lunch. At the end of the week, parents are invited to observe as the children put on a performance.

July 21-Aug 4: The Alabama Dance Theatre will host its annual Summer Dance Seminar July 21st-August 4th. Intermediate and Advanced dancers are eligible for this two week intensive seminar which features classical ballet, modern, and jazz classes taught by a nationally recognized guest faculty. The Summer Dance Seminar culminates with two free performances of “Stars on the Riverfront” that will feature a unique array of classical and contemporary works. Admission is free. Aug 9: This is a time of refreshing and empowering in the Word of GOD for Dance and Movement Leaders. I am so humbled at the requests from those who are not Movement Leaders. If you are a Leader in ANY capacity, you are more than welcome to attend this event. Leadership principles are the same, no matter your area of ministry.
