October 25: Professional Modern/Contemporary Dance Movement Workshop Series taught by Sanspointe Dance Company members. $18 drop-in or $15 if registering for all four classes in the series. The final class, "Time: Our Invisible Environmant" taught by Shellie Chambers, meets from 10am-Noon on Saturday, October 25 at Children's Dance Foundation. Class will be geared towared Intermediate level and up. Register here!

October 29, Nov. 5, 12, 9: Please join Youssouf Koumbassa for an amazing high energy dance class series with live drumming provided by Mitch Caponetto, John Scalici and friends. Classes are on Wednesdays, October 29, November 5 & 19, 7:00pm at Children's Dance Foundation, and on November 12, 6:30 pm at Homewood Community Center. October 30-November 2: Horror classic "Dracula," choreographed by Roger Van Fleteren, returns this Halloween. Based on Bram Stoker’s book, it is a tale of hypnotic power, boundless love and mesmerizing horror. Join us Thursday, October 30 at 6:30, for a FREE signature cocktail by Stephen Hudson, select beverages from International Wines and Craft Beer, and snacks from Silvertron Cafe. Your ticket to the performance gets you in and costumes are highly encouraged. Celebrate Halloween-week with us in style!

October 31: Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival welcomes you to apply to perform on the free Inside/Out Series, on the outdoor Henry J. Leir Stage, June 24 to August 30, 2015. Deadline to apply is October 31, 2014. The Inside/Out Series is a beloved tradition at Jacob's Pillow, offering free dance performances in all styles and genres to more than 20,000 enthusiastic audience members every summer. Please remember that both the content and production needs of your presentation must be appropriate for a free outdoor venue with sound only. There are no lights, wings or other staging, and the performance moves indoors in the event of rain.

November 1: Alabama Dance Theatre presents "Mistletoe," a Montgomery holiday tradition featuring “Favorite Dances of Christmas” for one performance only! Saturday, November 1, at 2:30 pm. Following the performance, children will have an opportunity to meet dancers and take photos.

November 12-16: The Alabama State University College of Visual and Performing Arts will host a performance by its new dance company on Nov. 12-16 at the Lelia Barlow Theatre. The performance, “First Steps,” is the inaugural concert of the new BFA/Dance Program. Performances will be held at 7 pm nightly. A 3 pm matinee will take place on Sunday, Nov. 16. $12 General (for all shows), $8 student (for all shows), $25 Gala Price (Saturday, November 15, 2014). Gala ticket price includes pre- and post-performance receptions and reserved seating. For tickets, call 334-229-4551 or 334-229-6929.

November 14-16: Sanspointe Dance Company announces new dance, music and video created by local and national artists in their upcoming concert entitled, "Trip the Light." The company has invited Eric Yow of the Orlando-based troupe Yow Dance and Lynda White from Denver to set repertory pieces on them and Linze McRae from the Downtown Dance Conservatory in Gadsden to collaborate with Artistic Director Taryn Packheiser Brown, on a dance for the camera media project. Rounding out the performance are new dances by company members Sara Turney, Chelsea Henderson and Brown. Music Director, Justin Wallace, will premier two audio compositions. Tickets for the concert are $15 and can be purchased at here.

November 21-23: Public Radio WBHM 90.3 & Alabama School of Fine Arts present "Soul of November" choreographed by Todd Rosenlieb on November 21-22 at 7:30 pm and November 23 at 2:30 pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Performances are at the Dorothy Jemison Day Theater, 800 19th Street North, Birmingham 35203.
