2010 National Arts Advocacy Day a Success!
 
Arts Advocacy Day: The 2010 National Arts Action SummitThe 23rd annual Arts Advocacy Day was a huge success! We shared the importance of the National Endowment for the Arts and stories about the rich dance programming across the state with staff from the offices of Senator Shelby, Senator Sessions, Congressman Davis, Congressman Bonner, Congressman Bachus, & Congressman Bright. Thank you for your letters and for posting messages on Twitter! As a Grassroots Partner we will be working with the Americans for the Arts to coordinate an Alabama Arts Advocacy Day this summer during their 50 States in 50 Days Advocacy Tour.

Job Opportunity: Strut, USA Performing Arts Center

StrutUSA.jpgStrut, USA Performing Arts Center seeks an experienced dance instructor needed for studio in Gadsden, Alabama. Studio is in it's 25th year and does do dance competitions. Applicant would need to be trained in ballet with knowledge of pointe, tap and jazz. Classes are also offered in HipHop, Contemporary, Clogging, Musical Theatre, Voice and Baton Twirling. Owner would consider hiring more than one instructor depending on expertise. Salary would be determined by experience.

The application deadline is April 21, 2010.

The Kennedy Center Arts Management Institute Fellowship provides 10 mid-career arts managers with academic training and practical work experience at the nation's cultural center.

The nine-month, full-time program begins in September 2010. A $20,000 stipend, coursework materials, and health insurance reimbursement are provided.
