This past weekend the Husband and I venture up to Waupaca WI for a Artists Event at The Feminine Touch,  What a great place for clothing for women and meeting new friends, "Thanks so much Mary Jo," for this great opportunity.  After the event the next day we visited my parents in Montello WI and look what we spotted down the road.  An International Cab Over.  As the Husband says it looks like a bulldog.  We love old rusty trucks.
Sending Love and Blessings

Quote for the Week
The 3'C's of Life
Choices, Chances, Changes
You must make a choice to take
a chance or your life will never change.

Respond to patterns sm

#031317-A, "Respond in patterns", 8 x 8 Collage on watercolor paper mounted on a 10 x 10 painted wood panel, ready to hang.

Materials Used: 140lb. watercolor paper, polymer medium, polymer resist, old book pages, handmade papers, painted drawing papers, gesso and painted Kraft papers, tracing wheel marks with acrylic, wax crayons, sealed with a UV varnish.

Meaning behind the art: I personally have been reflecting on my own patterns and those around me with great hopes. Some dread the Monday that start the week but I favor it greatly. It gives me a chance to begin again and continue the positive patterns I’m trying to continue to establish in my life. Realizing that we are so connected I witness my own patterns of cycles, season and colors I’m attracted to along with shapes. Some of these patterns come and go like the ebbs and flows of life. Times when food is plentiful and times when it’s lean or when there is a home full of joy to the home of sadness. After observing long enough we see we are like the flow of the tides hopeful discarding the patterns that don’t serve us anymore.   But there are those that we cling on to for dear life isn’t there and wish we would just let go already… well I’m looking at growing out of a few before I grow out of a pants size. Here’s to Choices! We always have choices, Always have Choices, Lets make a few good ones and keep the flow moving forward.

Creative Quest Journey

Chunky Journal
IMG_5944 2
I've been enjoy the pure playfulness of documenting my days with an entry in a small 4 x 6 chunky coptic stitch journal.  I've wanted to do this forever.  You might think I do this all the time but I don't. Being an educator of sorts when I create something I naturally think how can I make this into a class and then I make a few more to test things out and off I go offering a class.  But during my Creative Quest time I'm focusing on my own creativity and small ways. It is a awkward step but I'm enjoying filling up the pages.

Prayer Flags

I have wanted to play with my gelli plates I purchased some years back...but never did till lately. I decided to keep it all simple so I could enjoy just playing.  I have 60 prayer flags and I've done three printing session and complete 15 flags this far since March 1st.  Using string today and red and turquoises.
The hard part of this Creative Quest is not to throw your time and self under the bus...making time to create for the pure joy of creating gives me time to be silent and just put it all into action.
 Inner Critic is not allowed.
I might have ramble on about this a week or so ago but if you want to see my commitments to this Creative Quest head over to my blog.
