DTRC at the Canada Dance Festival

This Monday and Tuesday (June 7th and 8th), we’ll be at the Canada Dance Festival in Ottawa. If you are participating in this year’s festival, please drop by our table at the National Arts Centre to say “hi”, meet Amanda Hancox, our Executive Director, and learn more about DTRC programs.

We’re Rebuilding our Website!

The DTRC will be launching our new website this fall.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been contacting DTRC members, past and present, for stories, testimonials and photos. If we’ve missed you and you’d like to participate in the project, please contact communications@dtrc.ca  or 416-595-5655, ext. 25.

We’ll also be scheduling some video shoots for those who are interested. Stay tuned for dates/times.

International Meeting on Dancer Transition

On June 4th and 5th, representatives from dancer transition programs worldwide gathered in New York for the annual meeting of the International Organization for the Transition of Professional Dancers (IOTPD). The meeting focused on ideas, best practices, and trends in support services and programming.  Amanda Hancox, our Executive Director, represented the DTRC, giving voice to the needs and experiences of professional dancers in Canada.

We are now accepting applications for the 2010 Founder's Award.

The award provides up to $20,000 for a period of reflection, renewal and research before a dancer begins career retraining. One award is given every two years. If you are interested in applying for this award, please inform the DTRC as soon as possible.

The deadline is July 1st

Your membership must remain in good standing to continue to access DTRC services.

If you haven’t yet submitted your membership fees for 2009/10, please contact Membership Manager, Heather Bruce, at our National Office as soon as possible: membership@dtrc.ca.
