• CANFIT's MO Project is gearing up for its second round of regional youth convenings. If your community is part of the California Convergence and you would like to host a MO Project Youth Convening, complete this survey.  
• Several funding opportunities are available for community youth projects ranging from $500 to $25,000. Find the one that fits your project. 
• Last month we told you how to become a Summer Food program site. Read about how budget cuts that drop summer school are now affecting summer meals. Find out where youth can get a healthy lunch this summer.

In California, the Weekend Activities Bill, AB983, has passed the Assembly and is in Senate Committee. The bill expands after school services to the weekend. 

On the federal level, S1281, the Investment in Afterschool Programs Act, proposes a pilot program to establish after school programs in rural areas.  

Senate Committee bill S1406 and House-passed bill HR 2997 both expand the Afterschool Meal Program beyond the current 10 states.

Locate your state and federal legislators to let them know how you stand on these bills.
