Dear Fellow Animal Lover; April Showers bring May Flowers........and Lots of Kittens!
It happens every year around this time. It seems like it is "Raining" kittens. VSA would love to be able to help every single animal in need, but sometimes we just do not have the volunteer power or places for pets to stay.
All of our animals are raised in foster homes, instead of a shelter. We feel that by giving the animal a loving home like environment, we are giving it the best chance to transition into a new forever home once they are adopted.
Having been a foster parent for 3 years, I can tell you that it is one of the best things I have ever experienced. Knowing that I am helping an animal in need grow up healthy and happy and watching them be accepted into a new home with wonderful loving parents is a Great Feeling!
Have you ever considered being a foster parent to a cat or kitten? Now is a great time to give it a try. We have more than enough wonderful babies just waiting for a nice place to call home or "temporary home". You get unconditional love in return an a feeling that can not be duplicated by anything else!
If you have middle or high school children who need a summer project or need to get community service hours, this would be a great experience for them.
For more information on fostering, contact Phyllis at our VSA adoption center at Petsmart on Pine Ridge any weekend during adoptions or call 239-261-4768.
I guarantee you, you will have an experience of a lifetime!

Featured Pet - Avatar My name is Avatar, I was abandoned by a trash can and very traumatized when I first came to VSA. The nice volunteers are working to build me back up and let me know that even though I was discarded like trash, I am a living breathing creature and someone will want to love me and give me a forever home.
My foster Mom says I am a sweet, affectionate girl who makes her laugh when I drink out of the faucet! She has to go back up to Canada in May so I really need a forever home soon. I am a Florida Cat and do not think I could get used to life up north!
Please consider me. I promise you will not be sorry and I will love you forever!!!
I am up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
