News From the Coach's Launch...
Fall rowing and racing are drawing to a close, and a new group of novice rowers has fallen in love with the sport through RVR:
 |
Athletes have trained hard on the erg and the water - in the last week of practice ALL RVR ATHLETES scored Personal Best times for a 1000 meter erg piece. Go Novices!
|
| Off the water everyone had a chance to hear from Dr. Jabali Stewart, assistant director of the Lakeside Educational Enrichment Program (LEEP). Dr. Stewart talked with the rowers about the important role rowing and its lessons will play in their lives both now and in the future. |

Mt Baker novices have hosted Greenlake and Sammamish for duel racing. All crews fought hard and learned great lessons from lining up and testing themselves against another team!

RVR and Seattle Yacht Club Foundation Team Up for a Great Night
RVR Athletes and staff joined the Seattle Yacht Club Foundation at their auction on October 18, 2009. RVR Program Director Karla Landis introduced SYCF grant recipients and shared a video featuring programs supported by the SYCF. RVR athletes attended the event and helped on the auction floor. The sailing crowd loved learning about the sport from athletes who do it every day! The evening was fun for everyone, AND raised significant funds for youth boating activities on Seattle's waterways.
