Dear Dr. Colleague,

I invite the members of the Israel Orthopaedic Association to become part of an online collaborative orthopaedic surgery community called Orthopaedia®, supported by The Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons.

Orthopaedia is built on a powerful wiki platform that will allow your members to create and share articles, videos, presentations, and other documents with colleagues around the world.

Think of Orthopaedia as a combination of Wikipedia + Facebook + YouTube + SlideShare, created exclusively by and for orthopaedic surgeons as a central resource that addresses the clinical issues they face every day.

A Few Facts about Orthopaedia...

  • Membership and access are free, allowing any orthopaedic surgeon with internet access to tap into the collective wisdom of contributors to the site. Visit www.orthopaedia.com
  • Only orthopaedic surgeons whose credentials have been vetted can contribute content, and all content is reviewed to ensure that users can count on its accuracy and relevance to practice.
  • Because Orthopaedia was developed under a Creative Commons License, your members retain copyright to the content they contribute, as long as it is not protected by the copyright of others. They can reuse the original content they contribute on other non-commercial websites.
  • Orthopaedia's content is highly discoverable by major search engines, providing great exposure for content your members contribute.

Join the Orthopaedia Community

Visit www.orthopaedia.comI encourage you to publicize Orthopaedia to members of the Israel Orthopaedic Association through your website, society newsletter, or other communications you have with your members. I would be happy to draft a brief article explaining the benefits of Orthopaedia to them.

As an alternative, you may send an Excel spreadsheet containing your members' names, credentials, and email addresses to support@orthopaedia.com. We will upload the spreadsheet to Orthopaedia and then send each member a login name and password, along with a description of Orthopaedia.

Questions?

Please contact Susan Doan-Johnson, Director of Editorial Development, at susan@orthopaedia.com if you have any questions or if you would like a customized article for member communications.

I look forward to working with the Israel Orthopaedic Association and your members to build The Future of Orthopaedic Information and Knowledge Management

Best regards,
