Dr. Franzi Ng's Newsletter, The Extraordinary Life: Tools for Living with Radiance & Grace

In This Issue

Dear Franzi, December, 2009

Happy December!

How fearless were you last month? I realized two dreams of mine:

  • I ran in my frist fashion show and
  • I did my first commercial photo shoot. To see the results, go to Facebook.

If you have not signed up for Club Fearless yet, know that Steve Chandler's offer of a FREE month's membership is still on the table. Just email Maurice and tell him you want to give this a try.

To give you a taste of what it's like to be in Club Fearless, Steve offers my readers a FREE download of his audio program "Purpose vs. Personality." It's one of my favorites. Enjoy.

- My Intro to TFT Seminar at UNBC was again a huge success. Thanks to the over 100 of you who came out. Many asked when I will do this again. Well, the theatre is already booked for March 19 & 20. Today the first group of 3 registered. : )

- Many thanks to all of you who voted for "Tap into New Beginings," the initiative that wants to bring TFT to one of Canada's poorest neighbourhoods. We got over 529 votes. That is definitely a mandate - but unfortunately not enough for us to make it to the semi-finals. But not to worry, we will find another creative way of bringing the healing of Thought Field Therapy into that neighbourhood.

- Make sure you read Jen Reade's amazing story at the bottom of this newsletter. Jen combined Reiki and Thought Field Therapy to help her sister sail through a rather challenging birth.

I love writing these newsletters.
Thank you for reading!

From Survive to Thrive

Do you remember the days when thinking about the Holidays filled your heart with excitement, your eyes with brilliance, your mind with expectation, and your tummy with dancing butterflies?

You may be wondering: what happened?!

If the same thought now fills you with more anxiety than joy, you are probably not alone. Crowded malls, company dinners, short daylight hours and the swine flu dread don’t help to lift the mood.

If you wish to experience peace of mind and balance even in the weeks to come, you will find the following three simple tips, from the amazing world of Thought Field Therapy, most useful:

  • Watch what you eat. My primary concern here is not that you might gain weight if indulging in too many treats. Instead, I caution you to be aware of the Food-Mood Connection. When delicacies of every sort are amply available it is only too easy to overindulge in food stuff that may not agree with you. This can manifest physically in discomfort, even pain, as well as breathing and sleeping difficulties. Emotionally, too much of a good thing can show up in irritability, anxiety and depression. The Food-Mood connection is very real. It is not uncommon for clients to tell me that they feel sad and down after too much chocolate, or hypersensitive and angry after eating yet another cookie. Therefore, limit your food indulgences. Notice what you eat. Your waist line and your balanced, content mood will be your reward.
  • Nip stress in the bud:  Don’t let stress build up. Don’t wait until you reach the breaking point before you do something. It is so easy to eliminate all stress and anxiety with TFT. Just follow my TFT workout video, “The TFT Power Ritual,” on my web page (on YouTube this video has close to 2,500 hits). Use it under the following circumstances.
  • Tap in the morning. Think about the day/s and week/s ahead and tune into all your responsibilities, expectations and past experiences (e.g. traumas). Rate your level of upset on a scale from 0 to 10 (0 = no stress, 10 = extreme stress) and tap along with me on the video. Click here.
  • Tap before going to bed. Think about the day you had, everything that was said, everything that happened and rate your level of upset, tension or anxiety. Now tap by following the video. Click here.
  • Tap before you eat. Never, never eat from a place of anxiety. If nothing else, commit to yourself for the next few weeks that you will only eat when you are stress and anxiety FREE. Become aware of the tension in your body or the conversations in your head. Rate their intensity, then tap with the video. Click here. By doing so, you will be able to eat from a place of peace so you can actually notice what you are eating. People tell me that the food tastes better and that they need less of it to feel satisfied. Remember it’s not what you are eating - it’s what’s eating you. Get that out of the way and your meal becomes again a nourishing feast for body, mind and spirit.
  • Food or Addiction? If you use Holiday treats as fuel to keep you going (similar to caffeine), you are probably under a lot of stress. There may even be an underlying addiction to these foods, an addiction you may not be aware of – not until you stop eating the treat. If you experience strong cravings, if you feel you just can’t do without a certain food, rate the intensity and use “The TFT Power Ritual” to eliminate the craving. Click here.

Implementing these ideas takes a bit of discipline. I know. And it is this discipline that will set you free. The Bible says that the meek shall inherit the world. Unfortunately, the word “praos” (meek) was translated incorrectly. A much better translation is “disciplined.” It is the disciplined that shall inherit the world, those who just do it.

These simple steps, when followed consistently, allow you to move from survival mode to thrive mode, despite whatever might be happening around you.

A Miraculous Birth - with a Little Help from Reiki & TFT
A Success Story by Jennifer Reade, Reiki Master, TFT-Dx

When my sister first told me that she was pregnant, I half-jokingly offered to provide distance Reiki to help her through labour.  I did not expect to perform Reiki for the 7.5 hours she was in labour or be present in the delivery room.

My sister’s pregnancy was relatively easy, but, like most women, she was beginning to feel the effects of the pregnancy: overheating, sore hips, swelling and fatigue from lack of sleep.  In short, she was looking forward to giving birth.  Unfortunately, the baby was slow in coming; the due date came and passed and the doctor made a plan for her to be induced a week after the expected due date.  To provide moral and household support, I planned to stay with her and her husband for two days prior to induction and a week afterwards.

On the day of her induction, my sister (K) and my brother-in-law (Q) were excited as they headed to the hospital for the 7:00 am appointment.  Unable to take the time off of work, I planned to work from their home and rush to the hospital when called with the birth announcement. After receiving the first treatment, my sister and brother-in-law returned home, arriving at 11 am. K and Q were told labour pains could start at any time but to expect cramping first. By 11:30 am my sister was quite uncomfortable from cramping and had requested Tylenol, a hot water bottle, and a back massage.  I offered Reiki or TFT to help reduce her discomfort, but I was turned down in favour of a hot shower.

As I walked over to help K off the couch, I started to feel Reiki flowing out of my hands that I was unable stop. Apparently K felt it as well because she pulled me down onto the couch beside her, holding my hands to her back with a vice-like grip. We remained in this rather uncomfortable (for me) position for the next 3 hours. By the middle of the afternoon, K’s discomfort had grown enough that she thought she should return to the hospital. I soon found myself bustled out to the car with my hands still held in a death grip against her back and my mom laughing at our slow, barely coordinated shuffle.

After being admitted to the hospital for the second time that day, we were told by the nurse that K was not yet in labour and that her discomfort was continued cramping so she could not be given anything for the pain. On hearing this, K looked at me, grabbed my hands and we started again. We found that we could reduce her discomfort if I performed Reiki with my hands on her back then, during intense pains, switched to the TFT pain algorithm with me acting as a surrogate by maintaining contact through our feet.  We sustained this pattern for just over two hours until I needed to leave the hospital (I had to pick up our mom and bring her to the hospital).

Upon our return, K was checked by the nurse and was still only dilated to 1 cm. She was told the Dr. would see her in about an hour to induce her again and that she would have to return home for the night. Upon receiving the news that she would be spending the night with these “cramps”, K burst into tears and I started treating her with TFT algorithms. At this point I was not clear headed enough to use diagnostics, so I reverted back to algorithms—anxiety, worry, stress, pain, lack of energy and visualization. I wasn’t even asking for SUDs (Subjective Units of Distress), I was just tapping. I ended by clearing all of her reversals, treating for toxins (induction cream and hospital gown material) and then collarbone breathing. Right before the doctor was scheduled to arrive, I left to pick up some protein shakes for K to have for dinner because she would be coming home after her checkup and re-induction.

Thirty minutes later I received an excited call from Q: “You know I don’t believe in all that arm waiving stuff you do, but something must have worked - she is now 9 cm.” K had gone from 1 cm dilation to 9 cm after receiving my impromptu TFT session. Unfortunately, this rapid change meant that she actually had been in labour all afternoon without an anesthetic and she was now too close to the birth to receive one. I returned to the hospital where I continued to administer a combination of Reiki and TFT for the next two hours of labour.

My nephew, Andrew, was born that night and received his first Reiki treatment at 30 minutes old."

Matrix Energetics Contemplation

"The principles of Matrix Energetics are entirely congruent with universal truths and ideas espoused by many so-called enlightened beings. I think it is far too late in our history as a planet to have just a few enlightened beings. We need to do better than that."
