March 15: Celebration of Belonging: Crossing A New Threshold
Rev. Kurt A. Kuhwald
Our
service will be dedicated to exploring the meaning and experiencing the
joy of crossing the threshold into religious/ethical community. We
will honor new members in a special ritual of welcome and recognition.
Our affirmation of life as participants and members of a liberal
religion committed to celebration, caring, challenge, centering and
change will offer both the festive and the serious. Join us as we
celebrate the important act of choosing to belong.
March 22: Lilith Meets the Green Man by Elizabeth Fisher
Elizabeth Fisher will explore the two ancient religious figures of Lilith and the Green Man and how they are relevant to today's society. Elizabeth is a writer who explores issues of gender, earth-honoring spirituality and global human rights for women.

Annual Burma Human Rights Day Benefit
Free Burma. Support human rights in Burma and Aung San Suu Kyi, democratically elected Nobel peace prize winner who
is still under house arrest. The event will feature a Burmese style
dinner and a Burma documentary filmalong with two outstanding speakers
on Burma. Suggested donation: $15. Get more information from the Burmese American Democratic Alliance
Sunday, March 15th, 7 pm: Young Adult Spiritual Circle in the Fireside Room at 1606 Bonita Ave. Come together to create a sacred space for sharing and community building among young adults (18 - 35+). Bring something edible to share and feel invited to bring music, poetry, readings, or other food for the soul!
Monday, March 16th, 7 pm: Rachel Corrie Remembrance Gaza Report Back. Rachel Corrie was a peace activist who was killed while protecting the home of a Palestinian pharmacist. Come to honor Rachel's journey with Donna and Darlene Wallack of the International Solidarity Movement.
Sunday, March 22 6 pm:
Benefit for Food Not Bombs Honoring Filmmaker Clare Burch. Dinner at 6 p.m.

Peace Action Group marks 6th anniversary of the war in Iraq
March 22 , 1 pm.
Starr King Room at First Unitarian Church of Oakland, 685 14th St. at Castro. This panel will include Iraqi refugees resettling in the Bay Area and peace organizers. Michael Eisenscher, National Coordinator of U.S. Labor Against the
War, will speak about leading the U.S. delegation to the first international
