Come play in the streets of the Western Addition/Fillmore September 11th!

Sunday Streets is excited to return to the Western Addition and Fillmore neighborhoods on September 11th!. From 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., thousands of Bay Area residents, families and visitors will take to the streets to walk, run, bike, skate, and enjoy the car free space. There will be all kinds of fun activities for kids of all ages! Here is a list of what to look for along the route:
Fillmore- Geary to Turk:
  1. Gallery 1307: Live painting, face painting, community art (1307 Fillmore)
  2. Lush Life Gallery: Arts & crafts, balloon art and Jazz Reception (1320 Fillmore)
  3. African American Arts and Culture Center: Kids art wall and activities (Fillmore/O’Farrell)
  4. Donna Hunter Fitness: Line dance and healthy living inspiration (2pm Fillmore Plaza)
  5. Jazz Heritage Center open house, gospel brunch (1300 Fillmore)
  6. Sheba Piano Lounge (1419 Fillmore)
  7. Yoshi’s (1300 Fillmore)
  8. Express Yourself Café (1406 Fillmore)
  9. Climbing Wall in front of Jazz’z Salon (1315 Fillmore)
Fillmore/Turk to Alamo Square (Fulton/Divisadero):
North Panhandle: Fulton - Divisadero, Baker, Grove, Central:We have another Sunday Streets September 18th!
On September 18th, from 11a.m. to 4p.m., Grant Avenue will be transformed to a pedestrian's paradise. Come explore Chinatown and North Beach on foot! Come walk from Bush Street to Coit Tower, and see these neighborhoods in a whole new way! This event coincides with Mayor Ed Lee's Ping Pong Tournament, which you can learn more about by clicking here.

Sunday Streets Raffle!
We are having a season long raffle! Enter for a chance to win an electric bike from The New Wheel or a Public J7 bike! Other prizes include a child's push bike, kid's bike (brand tba), City CarShare Membership, Urban walker packages, transit passes and more! Stop by the green Sunday Streets tent to buy your raffle tickets! They are only $5 and the money goes to fund the Sunday Streets program.


Volunteer for Sunday Streets
The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition is proud to partner with Livable City for Sunday Streets by recruiting and training 200+ volunteers for every event. Check out this great video filmed by Sunday Streets Volunteers to get a taste of the day!

Spotlight on Bike Partners:
One of the best ways to enjoy *most Sunday Streets events is by bicycle. These businesses and organizations support bicycle programs at Sunday Streets: Bike & Roll, Bay Are Bike Rentals and Tours, Blazing Saddles provide FREE bike rentals (for one hour, to encourage turn over) at every event. Sports Basement, REI, Mikes Bikes, provide free bike tune ups so people can get their bike in shape for a fun day of cycling on safe, car-free streets. The New Wheel brings a fleet of electric bikes to try out. San Francisco Bicycle Coalition has been presenting Freedom From Training Wheels at Sunday Streets since 2008 and YBike participates with Youth Bike Safety Rodeos this year on Sept. 11 in the Western Addition.
* Sept. 18 Chinatown North Beach is a 'Walking Street' event- people are encouraged to ride to the event and park in valet bike parking to enjoy Grant Ave on foot.
