Registration Now Open!


Oh Boy! I bet you felt this day would never come, but it finally has!(drum roll….)

Registration for the 10th Annual Georgia River Network Annual Conference is NOW open! No, it’s not a Christmas miracle—it’s just Georgia River Network providing you with the training and networking opportunities you want, need and expect!

The 2010 conference will take place at the Jekyll Island Convention Center Friday, February 19 and Saturday, February 20, 2010, with the option to participate in a field trip on the morning of Sunday, February 21. So, early registration ends February 1st, which means that until then you can register to attend the conference at a discounted rate.  Plus, you can apply for you for registration, travel and lodging scholarships if you register by January 15th. So go to http://tinyurl.com/yjeasj7 and start registering!  Register yourself and then give it as a gift for a water lover you love!   •  5 Years of Paddle Georgia - April Ingle and Joe Cook, Paddle GA Coordinators 
  • Coastal Plain Issues Today - Chandra Brown, Ogeechee-Canoochee Riverkeeper   
  • An Update on Current State Legislative and Policy Issues - Neill Herring, Sierra Club; Jill Johnson, Georgia Conservation Voters          
  • Your River, Your Coast, Your Story - Janisse Ray  

Three informative tracks on Saturday:

  • What the Lake Lanier Decision Means for Georgia?:
    In this track, we will look at how this decision offers an opportunity to create a true “culture of conservation” where we use water efficiently all of the time and not just during times of crisis.
  • Coastal Plain Environmental Issues:
    This track will explore the current environmental issues on the coast and discuss what is being done by groups to address those issues.
  • Watershed Protection and You:
    This track hosted by Georgia Adopt-a-Stream will focus on monitoring pollution and river health for the layperson.
