Dear Daniel,

This summer has been another season of joy at The Restoration House as we hope it has been in your family as well.  Please celebrate with us through as you read this edition of The Restoration Monthly.

Exceeding Expectations...

In January of this year four of our single mothers joined together to tackle their finances.  Over the past six months, they went to financial literacy classes an average of 3 weeks per month.  And on the off weeks they were meeting one-on-one with a financial consultant who helped them apply what they were learning to their specific situations.  On May 28th all of them graduated but they weren't satisfied...

Although there was so much to celebrate over the last six months they wanted more and so for three weeks they worked with the trainer to develop a ten step financial literacy course.  They wanted something that dove deeper but was starkly practical.  It was amazing to sit with them at graduation night and see their tears because of what they had accomplished but also see them yearning to go even further and wanting to set the course for the future moms of The Restoration House.  I just listened in awe because not only were their words true but I know they are setting the course.  Congratulations!

Celebrating Moms 365 Days a Year...

This past month we held our 3rd Annual Mother's Day Celebration and were so excited by all those who joined us in celebrating mothers everywhere.  The event at the mall was amazing as over 500 people came through and over $1500 was given at that one location.  Including the donations given through our church partners, over $5,200 was raised by the event; smashing our goal by $200, but more than that it was amazing to see all of our sponsors, the community at large, and the churches come together to lift up these mothers.  Thank you all, and especially thank you to Love89 who went way above and beyond.  For a full list of all the mothers who were honored please visit us here

As you know The Restoration House never stops celebrating mothers.  Feel free to come join us anytime.  We always need people to help us show our single moms how valuable they and their children are!

Welcoming a New Family...

Celebrating her 18th birthday meant that she and her young daughter were moving into their new home through The Restoration House of East Tennessee.  The first time this mother saw her home-to-be her eyes welled up with tears of what she described as gratitude, being thankful for the opportunity TRH offers.  With support from family and friends as well as donations from TRH supporters, the house is full and this family's journey takes on a new path.

This mother came to TRH with motivation towards a career in cosmetology, having already secured a scholarship, a part-time job and a start date at a beauty school.  She reports current goals of graduating from TRH with the ability to provide financially for herself and her daughter, living in her own house, being a great parent and making good choices for her family.  TRH is thankful to have the opportunity to know and to walk alongside this family.

Thank you all for helping lift up these precious families.  It is a joy and honor.   Please join us in praying for them.

Mentors Needed...
The family above had to move into The Restoration House quicker than normal because of some extenuating circumstances.  That being said we are still recruiting for her and her daughter's mentor team.  If you have wanted to mentor or even if you are just starting to get interested please contact Mandy at mandy@therestorationhouse.net and she can give you all the details.  Or you can get a full description here.  We would love the chance to work with you.

Oh, and if you are in a small group who would like to serve together that is certainly welcomed!

The Van that Keeps on Giving...

This past month one of our moms with 4 children was in desperate need of some reliable transportation as she looks to start CNA classes next month.   Thank you so much to Dan and Tiffany Padgett for donating their van pictured to the right.  This family is so grateful and the girls can’t get over how roomy it is.  No more having to hang all over each other just to get somewhere.

This isn’t the first time this van has come at just the right time for a family!

Thank you so much for your support of single mothers and their children.  May we all be restored back to God's good intent for our lives!
