Dear Daniel,

This has been an exciting time for the families and the future of The Restoration House.  We are itching to share details with you about our growth plans and will be looking to do that very soon.  In the meantime please celebrate with us through all everything in this edition of The Restoration Monthly.

New Counseling Intern...
Hello to All! My name is Deborah Townsend and I am beginning my second year in the Marriage and Family Graduate Program at Johnson Bible College. I feel that counseling is what God has planned for me. I enjoy working with adults, children, couples, and families through a wide range of situations and struggles. I am now the shared counseling intern for The Restoration House and West Town Christian Church in hopes of providing healing and growth through the ministry of counseling. I am excited to begin working and continuing to help build up God's Kingdom. I ask for continuous prayer and support throughout this journey, as I too continue to grow through this ministry. Thank you for this opportunity and I look forward to being involved with the families of The Restoration House!

Curves Comes Through...

Many of you know that we are looking forward to expanding The Restoration House through a new development in partnership with a local church.  The development not only includes 15 housing units but also an exercise room and so much more.  This past month through the efforts of Ivan and Chris McDaneld, Curves donated all the equipment needed to completely outfit our new fitness center.  We can't thank the McDanelds and Curves enough.  We can't wait to see what other blessings God brings for the families of The Restoration House as we continue on this journey!
The Akima Club Blesses our Families...

Since 1947, the women of the Akima Club have been enriching our community through gifts of time and finances.  It was just announced that The Restoration House is the proud recipient of a $1,000 grant from the Akima Club to help our families with housing.  This is an incredible gift and we can only hope to continue in the long tradition of the Akima Club in supporting our community.

Transitions...

This month one of our families moved on from The Restoration House.  We are very proud of all she accomplished through her stay with us and The House of Courage.   This mother and her beautiful daughter now have their own apartment in Maryville and the mom will be graduating as a dental assistant from Tennessee Technology Center in August.  She is very driven and will be very successful in life.  She loves her daughter and we wish the best for them as they transition to the next stage of their lives.  We are honored she allowed us to journey with her for the time we had.

This means we are currently interviewing for new families.  Please pray for our staff as we go through the process of figuring out who God would have come to us next.  There are many more families than can we can take so the process is always agonizing.  We wish we could take so many more!

Many Thanks...

We have so many to thank this month.  First, we want to give a huge thanks to Kelli Thompson and her team at Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell, and Berkowitz.  Since their office recently moved from downtown to out west, they blessed us and many other nonprofits throughout Knoxville with furniture.  Also thank you to Bobbie Arthur and his small group from Farragut Christian Church, for helping out with our Financial Literacy Classes in April.   They brought a great team and really helped our families feel at ease.  Lastly, we want to thank all of those who helped our mothers attend the Esther Experience this past week.  They left saying they are "free".  We can't wait to see how God continues to use what they learned as they move on this journey toward restoration!

Thank you so much for your support of single mothers and their children.  May we all be restored back to God's good intent for our lives!

Journeying toward Restoration,
Daniel Watson
