U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary personnel participated in the “Sticker A Mussel” campaign for the first time in September and contributed an impressive 54 stickers/boats to the total count for the month. This represents slightly more than 10% of our entire September campaign. Great effort by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Hope we can continue to partner with them in the future.
September 2014 represents the fifth month of Parker Strip “sticker” numbers - since the focus of the campaign is on California RV Parks and Campgrounds, we expect a high percentage of boaters to have CA plates.
Note: California boaters are continuing to make up a large percentage of the lower Colorado
River boating population. 58% of all boats ‘stickered' since this Sticker A Mussel campaign was started are California registered. In the month of September, it was noted that California boaters to the lower Colorado River declined slightly as children returned to school after summer break. Only 33% of the year-to-date totals are Arizona registered boats and 9% are from other states and Canada.
