Mussel Report

Trending 1: The Lake Havasu Marine Association’s effort to focus more attention on anchors and anchor lines as a potential source of mussel contamination continues to make progress. Elizabeth Brown, Invasive Species Coordinator, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Chairperson, Western Regional Panel recently forwarded approval from the executive committee regarding a pilot program in collaboration with Ryan Dvorak, owner of Slide Anchor, to affix an AIS prevention message to new anchors sold at retail. Specific wording on the tag attached to each anchor is currently under development. The target date to launch this program is later in 2017.

Trending 2: The Lake Havasu Marine Association participated at the annual Colorado River Law Enforcement Agency (CRLEA) Conference in Laughlin on January 24-25. Dee Davis, Pacific States Marine Fisheries WID Trainer from Lake Mead, Nevada, and Lake Havasu Marine Association president and CEO Jim Salscheider presented an informative 30-minute talk to the 170 plus law enforcement officers in attendance about the importance of the AIS prevent effort.

Trending 3: On January 26, the Lake Havasu Marine Association attended the annual half-day Lake Havasu Quagga Coordination Team Meeting in Lake Havasu City. Various agencies from Arizona, California and Nevada were represented. The Lake Havasu Marine Association would like to take this opportunity to recognize Tom McMahon, invasive species coordinator for Arizona Game and Fish for his thirty years of dedicated service. Tom announced his retirement from AZG&F at the meeting, effective February 9, 2017.

Presented by Lake Havasu Marine Association and co-sponsored by Mohave State Bank & Jet Renu --
the largest consumer boat show in Arizona and Nevada, over 120 exhibitors with expected paid attendance over 9,000.

STATUS OF EXHIBITOR SPACE AVAILABILITY: (click here for floorplan)

Bottom-line, the 2017 Lake Havasu Boat Show will be 50% larger than ever before (approximately 8 football fields in size) and we will be utilizing both Windsor 3 and Windsor 4 lots to accommodate exhibitor requests. The Windsor 4 Lot is sold-out except for spaces along the far north side (spaces BB thru HH, standard space rates will apply) which have not yet been specifically requested. And, there is still some booth space availability in the “Park” area adjacent to the Chili Cook-off (the #600s and #700s)

The Windsor 3 Lot still has availability – the space cost in this area will continue to be available at the lowest “early bird” rate until further notice. Please contact Bob Brown regarding exhibitor space inquiries: (951) 501-0210, info@lakehavasuboatshow.com

PLANS ARE NOW IN MOTION FOR A SURPRISE SPECIAL ATTRACTION IN THE WINDSOR LOT 3 PAVILION

To enhance the volume of visitor traffic in the new Windsor 3 Lot, a special attraction surprise is being planned. More details to follow in the next newsletter.

MERCURY RACING MEET & GREET

Mercury Racing will once again be displaying at the Lake Havasu Boat Show, bringing a full complement of new products (only seen before at the Miami Boat Show). Mercury Racing is also inviting all exhibitors to a “meet & greet” at the Mercury display truck (with BBQ) starting at 6:00pm (either Friday or Saturday evening – confirmed date will be announced). Boat Show beer garden will also be serving after hours.

DON’T FORGET TO PLACE YOUR REQUEST FOR EXHIBITOR NAME BADGES

If you know the persons who will be working at your display during the Boat Show, you may request name badges online now through March 30, 2017. Badge requests received after March 30 will be printed on-site at the Boat Show starting Thursday, April 6. Here’s the online link to request badges: http://lakehavasuboatshow.com/exhibitor-badges.

HELP US PROMOTE THE LAKE HAVASU BOAT SHOW

There are a lot of things you can do as an exhibitor to help us promote the Boat Show. First, you can add a link on your website to the Boat Show – http://www.lakehavasuboatshow.com Then, if you use social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.) start making posts and tweets about the show. And if you have a newsletter, blog or send email blasts to your customers, make sure you are including info about the Boat Show. Also, if you have a new product(s) or some cool images that you would like us to share when our aggressive social media campaign starts on March 1, please send and we’ll be sure to use it. And don’t forget – if you have submitted a space application with a deposit (or paid in full), you are eligible for a free 250 pixel wide x 300 pixel tall banner ad on the Boat Show website – just email us the banner ad and tell us where you want it to link, and we’ll post it! It’s free!
