TSE Network Rolling Out
As we enter the final quarter of 2009, we're busy gearing up for our national launch of 50 new locations. Each truck stop or travel center we electrify can take as little as 4 months from start to finish but factors such as permitting and weather delays can push the build-out time by up to 2 additional months.
Here's our standard timeline:

Getting Tough on Idling Laws
With the national emphasis on air quality, some states are putting teeth into their idling restrictions.
- In Boston, Paul Revere Transportation LLC recently agreed to pay a $650,000 civil penalty for violating Federal and State clean air laws. U.S. EPA inspectors witnessed more than 234 separate violations of the Clean Air Act and State anti-idling regulations. Read more
- In Texas,
beginning September 1, truck drivers in Texas are no longer allowed to
idle
during federally mandated rest periods, effectively removing the idling
exemption. Code enforcement officers are now fining drivers up to $500.

Idle-Reduction Equipment Incentives
As most truckers know, weight is money. 35 US States now allow heavy-duty
trucks to exceed the 80,000-pound maximum weight limit to encourage the
use of idling-reduction equipment. Now, Florida has introduced a bill that would provide this incentive to install auxiliary power units, allowing the truck to weigh up to an additional 400 pounds.
Arizona, Maine and Virginia are three new states that will provide the weight-limit exemption incentive this year.
