Amanda with Quinta
Amanda was partnered with Quinta in March 2017. Quinta increases Amanda's independence by helping with tasks like opening and closing doors and drawers, opening and shutting the fridge, turning on/off the lights, and retrieval - getting things like her phone, her afternoon snack, etc. Amanda and her family have been touched by the community support - their church commissioned Amanda and Quinta and blessed each of them. Amanda and Quinta enjoy practicing their skills and are learning new ones all the time.
Fun fact: Quinta is the half-brother of The Today Show puppy with a purpose, Charlie! Quinta is named after their amazing mom, Quinta!

Our volunteer spotlight shines on Maggi
Maggi is a retired teacher who was looking for ways to keep busy and give back to the community. She remembered when a hearing dog team came to her American Sign Language (ASL) class and demonstrated how the dog alerted her to sounds.
Circle Tail seemed far away at first, but after starting as an adoption counselor, the drive seemed to get shorter. “It’s beautiful country and a great way to clear my mind and relax. It’s so worth it when I introduce a dog to prospective adopters and I see their faces light up. I know I’ve made a good match.”
People always ask how her, “How can you work there and not want to adopt each dog you meet? “I just smile because after 1½ years, I gave in and adopted Murphy Muldoon, my goofy, fluffy white dog.”
Maggi also uses her ASL skills as a presenter and representative at area events. She’s served on the committee for Circle Tail’s Dinner, Art, and Wine for Canines for 4 years, and this March she chaired the Artist’s Corner. She was delighted to welcome a new volunteer to the committee this year when her daughter, Sarah, joined as a communications / marketing volunteer, working on flyers and the program.
