Keynote speaker Ed Shernoff,

"The Best Volunteer Gig"

"The Best Volunteer Gig Ever"

Ed Shernoff has been a volunteer and foster family with Circle Tail for 4 1/2 years. He found Circle Tail through VolunteerMatch, and originally volunteered to be a speaker. He's now both a speaker and a foster, and has fostered about 15 different dogs. Ed finds it rewarding not only to see the dogs in his care find their purpose, but to have the opportunity to educate about assistance dogs, and see those successes. Ed writes:

"One of my favorite things about being out with a dog in a service dog vest is walking into a store, and the little kids pulling on their mother pant leg saying "look mom, look at the doggy". Mom almost always very quietly says, "yes sweetie, it's a helper dog, and no you can't pet the helper dog", and explains that the dog's attention has to be focused on the person s/he is helping.

Hear Ed share some of his stories and experiences. Don't miss the fun - the gala is Saturday, March 1 at Receptions Loveland.
