Literary gala supports vital programs that
spark conversation and critical thinking across the state
SEATTLE – A crowd of nearly 350 gathered last night at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel for Bedtime Stories 2011, a literary gala featuring the debut of new work from critically acclaimed authors Jim Lynch, Jamie Ford, Heather McHugh, Stephanie Kallos and Charles Johnson, and emceed by Garth Stein. The event raised more than $115,000 in support of Humanities Washington’s work to spark conversation and critical thinking in communities across our state using story as a catalyst. Thank you to our donors for their generosity!
Humanities Washington would like to thank the extremely talented group of authors whose time and talent provided the heart and soul of this event. Many thanks, also, to our honorary co-chairs David and Catherine Skinner, whose commitment to the humanities and our community inspires so many.
