Dog Rescue News:

This month, Happy Tails' Advocacy News Blog features interviews with Jessica Stout of Animaladvocating.com and Carol Araneo-Mayer of Puppy Mill Awareness Day. Both of these wonderful women are on the front lines of animal rescue efforts - on our blog they share some very important advice for all of us. For example, Jessica Stout shares three ways to help dogs in need:

1. Use Goodsearch, a search engine that donates to charity.

2. Donate to your vet's "Good Samaritan" fund.

3. Consider fostering.

Learn more by reading our Advocacy News Blog.

Blog of the Month:

Since we're working on the Dachshund book, it's only right that we feature a Dachshund blog this month. Who's Your Dachshund is a fun blog full of great Doxie commentary and photos. It's very funny, and the contributors have been very kind supporters of Happy Tails Books. Please support them back by checking out their blog - Two Paws Up!

Website of the Month:

Less apathy. More cake offers an array of truly unique, adorable, doggie stickers. What’s more, they share our passion for dogs (the shop owner rescued a Boston Terrier)! Blog / Website

Where Are They Now?

One of the stars of “Lost Souls: FOUND! Inspirational Stories of Adopted Boston Terriers,” Marlee Sherman-Nielson, graduated from Companion Dog 1. We’d like to wish her congratulations and best of luck in her new endeavors!

SPOTlight

This month our website is featuring Bently, from our upcoming Dachshund book, Pearl, from our Boston Terrier book, and Eli from our Golden Retriever book. Check out their uplifting stories!

Another Dog Book You’ll Love

Frankie, the Walk 'N Roll Dog is a multi-award winning true, inspirational story about a Dachshund whose life started out just like any other dog walking on all four paws until a spinal injury leaves her paralyzed.  Frankie is custom-fitted for a wheelchair and learns to keep on rolling. Her zest for life will have you cheering, and she will give you hope that all things are possible.  This book is for all ages, teaching people about overcoming challenges and compassion for the physically challenged.

Work for Happy Tails Books

Can you believe it’s only been four months, and we’ve already published two books, collected over 300 stories, and raised over $700 for rescue! We’ve met so many wonderful like-minded people and are excited about how many more lives we can touch. Our work is only beginning…

And we need some help! We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals who share our passion for dog rescue to help us to sell our books to bookstores and pet stores across the country. Experience in business-to-business sales and existing relationships with bookstore and pet store buyers is a plus. We will provide you with marketing materials and guidance. Commission based. To apply, please send a cover letter and resume.

Special Treat - WIN a Book:

Let’s have some fun! Answer our dog trivia question and get entered in a raffle to WIN a book. One winner each month will be announced in this newsletter.

This month’s question:

What breed of dog starred of the movie “There’s Something About Mary?” Send us your answer and be entered in our raffle!

Thanks for reading! The Happy Tails Books project is a success because of you, and we are grateful. Please continue to help us in sharing the joy and love that adopted dogs bring to their new homes by referring your friends and family to our books. Woof!
