MAY 2009 Dear Laura, I'D LIKE TO SHARE with you this recent project for one of our non-profit clients. Total Spectrum was asked to create an invitation package for Breakfast With The Stars, a first-time event for children and families at Tarrant Area Food Bank in Fort Worth, Texas. GUESTS WERE INVITED to the Saturday morning event to share delicious food prepared in the Community Kitchen and to interact with cartoon and movie characters, sports figures and other "stars" in costume. The invitation created buzz and anticipation, resulting in the attendance of about 400 people and the opportunity to win new friends for TAFB. DID YOU KNOW that one dollar donated to TAFB provides five meals to feed the hungry in our area? I hope you enjoy this piece of “farm work,” and take a moment to learn more about TAFB's mission and programs.

| USING A SPOON for the "B" and a fork for the "W", the event logo says "fun" right from the start. Kid-friendly colors on the companion stars prepare everyone for a good time. All marketing pieces were built around this logo: print ad, "save the date" e-card, banners, posters, tickets, RSVP card, mailing and reply envelopes, and invitation. |
THE STAR IS DIE-CUT on the cover of the invitation, revealing a clue to the secret inside. Cartoon eyes create playful intrigue by peeking out from behind the star. Three panels allow ample space for details, with sponsors’ logos and friends’ names on the back panel.

UPON OPENING the cover, the recipient is rewarded with happy colors and images that draw in kids and parents alike: a magician’s hat with volunteer's names rising out of it, cartoon ears and feet, a light saber, and details of the event. The main pieces were printed four-color (thanks to 4-Color Press), even the tickets and RSVP card.
