FEBRUARY / MARCH 2010
Dear Laura,
Controlling web site content and staying current is vital to many small
businesses, non-profits, entrepreneurs and solopreneurs. Add a page,
change the address, add a blog--such updates can mean all the world
to your organization. You may be one of the many who has been frustrated when it comes to updating your web site or making a minor edit. Familiar with one of these scenarios?
You want to update your news page occasionally. It's set up to allow you to make text updates and upload new photos. The other pages are inaccessible (unless you take a crash course in coding, and who's got time for that?). And now you need to edit text on one or two other pages. Your web guru won't be able to get to it for a week--but you need it now!
In a second scenario, as recommended, you bought a web authoring application (Dreamweaver is one of the most popular.) so you could make your own changes. You need training and experience to get comfortable with it, and somehow there are always other priorities. The updates just don't get done, and you feel like you've wasted your money on software. It's gotta be easier than this, right?
Fortunately, Laura, technology has evolved, and one of the most exciting developments is a user interface that doesn't require sophisticated technical skills, the purchase of new software or weeks of training. Your password and user ID allow access, and a short training session will give you the confidence and skills you need.
That's only one of the opportunities available. Analytics help you track your site's effectiveness. A newsletter sign-up page increases your audience. Features that allow audience interaction can help you get all bloggy and Facebooky.
So Laura, take a look at your current web site now. Is it time to not just get control and get up-to-date, but to take it to the next level?

Laura, last month I promised we'd start archiving Farm Work on our web site. You'll now see back issues from May through December 2009. We'll update the page regularly, in case you've lost track of an earlier issue or you're a new subscriber.
See a summary of our new Web 2 EZ package below left. I'm very excited about how it can help you.
Also new: Total Spectrum Interact, our Facebook page. Become a fan and post your questions or topics to discuss. I'll respond promptly, and your friends can join the discussion. You'll see our portfolio albums there as well. It's new--the goal is 25 fans to get started.(You'll need a Facebook account.)
Warm regards,
Laura Hunt
