Local school children have the opportunity to meet musicians and get up close and personal with their instruments at the SMS' open Chair to Chair rehearsal from 7-8 pm on Wednesday, October 11th at Grant Elementary School's auditorium in Santa Monica.
The Symphony hosts periodic Chair to Chair rehearsals to help encourage a love of music in the younger generation. Elementary school students engage in conversation with orchestra members and get to experiment with everything from plucking the strings of a double bass to making sounds on the tuba.
