OYSTER RIVER MULTIUSE TRAIL
Georges River Land TrustSidecountry SportsMidcoast Maine NEMBA, Stonescapes Masonry, and the Town of Thomaston celebrated the opening of this new trail in Thomaston on October 13. Thanks to all the volunteer trail builders of all ages coordinated by GRLT's Trail Manager John Anders! Despite a touch of rain, riders took an exciting spin on the new trail. Check it out!

LES HYDE REMEMBRANCE
Leslie Hyde inspired us to care for the earth! A founding member of Georges River Land Trust, Les' love for the earth knew no bounds, from the tiniest wildflower to the mightiest oak. Les was a lifelong advocate for land conservation, and is the stuff of legends at Georges River Land Trust. Nary a day passes we don't think of him, and thank him from our hearts. See below...

LES HYDE REMEMBRANCE
Please join Les Hyde's family, friends and colleagues for a trail re-dedication, family hike and tree planting on Saturday, October 20th from 10:00 to 11:30 at the Jackson Memorial Library in Tenants Harbor, to celebrate his ongoing legacy, with the local environmental organizations he cared so much about.

FORESTRY WALK
Georges River Land Trust will host an easy walk on the new forestry interpretive trail at the 124-acre Appleton Preserve in Appleton. The tour, led by Jim L. Robbins, retired President of Robbins Lumber Company and former Land Trust Board President, will start at 1 pm on Sunday, November 4. The rain date for this event is Sunday, November 11.

Save the Date! GRLT has set Thursday, December 6, from 4:30 to 6:30 at Steel House in Rockland for its annual volunteer party. Mark your calendars, and prepare for a fun evening celebrating YOU, the Land Trust, & the holiday season. See you there!
