Hello, and welcome to January’s newsletter. We wish you all a happy new year and hope 2016 proves fruitful photographically and in every other sense.

This month’s newsletter showcases our partnerships with London Art Fair and Leica’s PhotoVoice fundraiser, updates from some of our projects, and news about a previous ‘theprintspace PhotoVoice Awards’ finalist raising funds to support refugees. Own affordable photographs at the London Art Fair…

This year’s London Art Fair sees PhotoVoice hosting a photography ‘Lucky Dip’. Buy an anonymous envelope for £35 and you might get a signed print from an established photographer or a beautiful photograph from one of our project participants. A number of acclaimed photographers have donated prints, including Abbie Trayler-Smith, Dorothy Bohm, Harry Borden, Joe Cornish, Lottie Davies, Laura Pannack, Nick Danziger, Peter Dench, Steve Bloom and Tom Stoddart

… and find out how to encourage more diversity in photography

After visiting our stand and taking part in our ‘Lucky Dip’, join us in a talk/discussion on ‘Encouraging Diversity in Photography’. Anna Fox will chair an esteemed discussion panel, with Zelda Cheatle, Karen Harvey and Scarlet Crawford exploring the barriers and opportunities for more diversity in the photography industry.

The London Art Fair is the UK’s premier Modern British and contemporary art Fair. The 28th edition of the Fair takes place from 20-24 January 2016 at the Business Design Centre in Islington.

The PhotoVoice panel discussion is on 20 January, from 4.30 – 5.30

Leica’s Quiztrail in support of PhotoVoice

If the London Art Fair isn’t enough, join Leica on their photography trail. Though the Quiztrail App you will be lead through London from a new perspective. With a host of photography opportunities along the way, the participant who takes the best image will win a signed copy of the ‘London Life’ book by celebrated photographer, Colin O’Brien.

The Leica Trail can be followed at any time between 11am and 7pm on Wednesday 20 January, and there is a Leica gift for every participant who completes the walk.

Photographers supporting refugees in Lesbos

Maria Falconer, finalist in the first ‘theprintspace PhotoVoice Awards’ is raising money with photographer Paul Hill to support five weeks of volunteering on the Greek Island of Lesbos. They are providing assistance to the thousands of refugees who have made the hazardous crossing to the island.
