Southbeach Modeller 0.9.5 is out, and available for download. The new release contains many useful features. All users - including those who have upgraded to MyCreativity - are recommended to download and install. A summary of the new features in the new release is provided below and covered in detail on the download page.

Southbeach 0.9.5 available for download We advise all users - free and licensed - to download the install the new release. There is a new object type and significantly enhanced integration with Web browsers and desktop/folders. An example model, showing the new hexagon object, representing knowledge (data, information, facts, context, laws etc ...) will be popular with creative problem solvers. The ability to drag and drop URLs and text onto the canvas, from Web browsers, automatically creating URL links to web content, will permit Southbeach models to leverage Web content more fully. Southbeach Now Has Hexogons Southbeach Notation has been extended to support Hexagons, a common shape used by innovation practitioners and creativity experts. In Southbeach, hexagon refers to 'knowledge' (what we know or believe), i.e. information, facts, data, news, intelligence, context, circumstance, belief, assertion, evidence, rumor, opinion, sacred cows, elephants in room, realities, principles, truth, laws, science ..... Southbeach gives you nine colors for setting out your knowledge context in a Model, and the shape is transparent so that it does not intrude on other important areas of the diagram. Of course, all other agents are a form of knowledge, but hexagon is used to distinguish those elements of knowledge where you explicitly don't want to take a perspective (useful or harmful etc). Knowledge can be given other attributes, such as insufficient or potential knowledge, and it could be typed, e.g. evidential knowledge, hearsay, etc. using agent type, allowing for the generation of different MyCreativity questions. In some Southbeach Models, users include such knowledge in the notes field of any agent. Now there is a shape to make the important statements explicit in the visualization and generation of suggestions. In the example below, we show a root cause analysis example (RCA) of a plane crash in Colombia, and show screen shots of using MyCreativity to generate searching questions using a 5x5Whys tool.
