2009 Global CRO Market Update: Trending Toward CRO Partnership By: Latesha Richards The global contract research organization (CRO) market has been growing tremendously indeed. Increased outsourcing, particularly among smaller biopharmaceutical companies, is helping to drive growth in the global market for CROs, according to a recent industry analysis by Turner Investment Partners. A combination of strong underlying fundamentals, particularly among some of the top CROs, global expansion, and preclinical and early-stage development activities are responsible for this growth. Demands for CRO services are coming from large pharmaceutical companies as well as from smaller biopharmaceutical companies. CROs are also generating more of their revenues from outside of the U.S. as the number of clinical trials conducted globally increases.
