"I never could have imagined owning such wonderful clothing, and now with my new suit, I really
feel good when I show up for interviews."
Before we met Michelle, she told her case manager that she didn't feel like she deserved to own nice clothing. With the help of generous people like you, we’ve shown her that's just not true.
Instead, we've shown Michelle that our community cares about her and her young son Noah, and we know that she’s going to achieve her goals of a steady job and a safe, affordable place to live.
is the only program in our community providing free clothing, shoes, accessories, and gift cards to hundreds of homeless and lower income people each year
, while recycling and reusing more than 150,000 pounds of textiles annually.
Caring people like you have made it possible for nearly 3,000 homeless and low-income people to take important first steps, with confidence and style. Without your support, we can't do any of this!
Dignity, comfort, and self-esteem are crucial to successful transitions.
Second Chances provides so much more than just clothing - we help clients feel respected, confident, and positive about their futures. Now, more than ever, people like Michelle need your support and the esteem-building, free clothing that Second Chances provides.
You know how you feel in your favorite outfit - the one you save for important events? When you feel confident about the way you look, you carry yourself a little differently and that affects how you interact with others and the world. That positive outlook can lead to a better job, a safe and affordable apartment, or even the courage to finish college.
This year, your support ensures that Second Chances will continue to be a resource for people like Michelle and Noah
, because we know that there will always be people who need our help as they build brighter futures. For several years, we've been searching for affordable office space to make Second Chances more accessible to our partners, clients, volunteers, donors, staff, and others. I can’t reveal much yet, but we're really close to that goal! It's going to be a wonderful step for us, and we're depending on you to help us continue this great work in the years ahead.
Your year-end contribution to Second Chances will support members of our community who are ready to tackle huge challenges. Can we count on you? [Please click here to donate.]
I hope you'll consider a tax-deductible gift to Second Chances this year.
Your donation will directly support people in our community who need our help more than ever.
These words from Senator Edward M. Kennedy remind me of all we've been able to do, and how vital it is to continue, with the same hope and determination that motivates our clients:
for being part of our generous community, and working with Second Chances to bring hope, encouragement, and opportunity to others.
