Leadership Formation
for Mission
Living DiscipleLife Gatherings
for Prayer and Conversation
|
|
Last year various gatherings of lay and rostered leaders took place to talk about the future of the NT-NL. That led to presentations and conversations at the 2010 assembly in Amarillo about the redefinition of “synod” and our life together. Now that conversation comes home to all the members and leaders in our congregations. YOU are invited to join the discussion and help find ways to realign our life together around leadership formation for mission.

Bishop Kevin Kanouse will lead each of the six gatherings using a format that weaves worship together with conversation, food and fellowship.
His intent is to listen to the needs of the leaders and congregations and to propose ways that we can work together to focus on the development of missional congregations, courageous leaders and evangelical outreach.
Every congregation is invited to send 2-3 congregational leaders plus their pastor to one of these Living DiscipleLife gatherings. Each begins at 10 a.m. and concludes by 3 p.m. - lunch is included for a donation. Let your pastor know that you would like to attend.
Registration will close one week prior to each event. You are welcome to attend any of the six Living DiscipleLife days.

Parish Lay Ministry Academy - Fall Term
As a hundred NT-NL graduates can attest, the Parish Lay Ministry Academy is a wonderful way to "go deeper" in your understanding of the teachings and mission of the church and to prepare yourself for new ways to serve and lead in the congregation. The fall term begins September 11 - with topics on Worship, Pauline Theology and Church History.

School for Children in Sierra Leone
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sierra Leone will have another 4-classroom school built thanks to the generosity of anonymous donors from NT-NL. The couple (a retired pastor and spouse) were touched by a story at the 2008 Synod Assembly about a NT-NL congregation doing this very thing. This is Living DiscipleLife !

During this year of Prayer and Conversation about Living DiscipleLife in the NT-NL,
let us pray...
O
Lord of heaven and earth, as you awaken the dawn each morning, so
awaken the soul of each baptized person, clergy and lay, on our mission
territory. By the power of your Holy Spirit bring us as your disciples into your kingdom, where we are free to live life in its fullest: Lord in your mercy:
