"Savior of the Nations Come"
Text attributed to Ambrose of Milan (340-397)
Martin Luther (1483-1546)

 Christmas2Savior of the nations come;
virgin's son, make here your home.
Marvel now, O heav'n and earth:
God has chosen such a birth.

 Not by human  flesh and blood,
but the mystic Breath of God,
was the Word of God made flesh,
fruit of woman, blossom fresh.

Wondrous birth, O wondrous childChristmasstar1
from his throne, a virgin mild!
Very God, and Mary's son,
eager now his race to run!

From God's heart the Savior speeds,
back to God his pathway leads;
out to vanquish death's command,
back to reign at God' right hand.

Now your manger, shining bright,
hallows night with newborn light.
Night cannot this light subdue;
 let our faith shine ever new.

 Praise we sing to Christ the Lord,
virgin's son, incarnate Word!
To the holy Trinity
praise we sing eternally!

Christmas 1

May the grace, peace,
and light of the Word made flesh dwell in  your heart
and grant you hope
in this Holy Season of light, and throughout 2012!

See you back here January 2.

  ----------------------------------------------

We pray:  All powerful and unseen God, the coming of your light into our world has brightened weary hearts with peace.  Call us out of darkness, and empower us to proclaim the birth of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Daily and Sunday DiscipleLife Prayer for December.
Every Sunday, in our corporate worship and in our daily prayers, we ask you to pray for Christ's mission coming into the world and across our Mission Area:

Lord Jesus, as the days grow shorter and our energy wanes, renew within us the vision that you have set before us.  Continue to bless each day with energy to focus on one thing:  that all may know we are your disciples through the love we share.  We pray your blessing as we develop the DiscipleLife Center for Mission at Briarwood.  Amen.

Grace and Peace in Christ,
