THE STORM PASSES

And what a storm it was!! Seven high tides, twenty-foot waves pounded the coast relentlessly. Long-time residents easily made comparisons to 1992 and 1994 and some went even further back for similar experiences. Still, despite all, Bethany and environs held up well. While there were a few breaches in the town, South Bethany, and even North Bethany, the beach replenishment did its job as intended. There will certainly be much work to be done on the beaches and dunes but there is little doubt that we will be back in business in no time. All of us who live, work, or just enjoy this lovely beach community owe DNREC and their great team a resounding, "WELL DONE".
