Wardrobe Planning and Packing for Travel

Vacation season is just around the corner. Here are a few tips for planning your travel wardrobe.

• Start with the shoes.  There's no way you can have fun on vacation if your feet hurt.
• Reseach the climate of your destination.  Make sure you're not going to be too hot or too cold with your clothing selections.
• Reseach the culture of your destination, especially if you are leaving the country.  Not only does this help you look stylish and respectful, it also increases your safety.  Nothing targets you more than looking like an American tourist.
• Think about what activities you'll be doing and pack the appropriate clothing and equipment.
• Put together a travel capsule--6 to 10 garments in a wrinkle-free fabric that can be mixed and matched, dressed up or dressed down.
• Check out this video on how to pack efficiently.  I've used the roll up method shown in the video. I've not tried the bundle method, but I know of other people who do and love it.  I also highly recommend packing cubes.    The Yin and Yang of Style

Thursday, June 3, 7 pm to 9 pm. 

In this workshop, you will learn which physical and which psychological characteristics are yin and which are yang; which clothing styles are yin and which are yang; and what messages yin and yang style clothing sends.  You will analyze yourself to determine your yin and yang characteristics.  Using this information, you will be able to choose clothing which fits your characteristics and to convey the messages you want to send.
