Hart is new vice president for advancement  Hart comes to Lees-McRae from Barton College in Wilson, NC, with more than a decade of development and fundraising experience.  In her new role, Hart will oversee all advancement, development and alumni relations services and activities for the College.  Read more.

Interior designer Dianne Davant will chair Lees-McRae College's 2010 Designer Showcase House  With the help of community partners, this exciting fundraising initiative will transform a structure on campus into an Appalachian retreat for guests and VIPs of the College.  Read more.

Woodcraftsman Bob Jones hand carves Lees-McRae shield from mahogany as a gift for President Barry Buxton  This striking shield now adorns the office of President Buxton in the historic Rock House. Jones, the brother-in-law of President Buxton, is a painter, sketch artist and craftsman, and is retired from the faculty of the College of Education at Appalachian State University.  Read more.

Lees-McRae launches Monday afternoon farmers' market on Tate Lawn from 5-7 p.m.  The student club LOCAL organized the market to bring local and organic foods to campus through partnerships with Avery and Watauga County farmers. Read more.
