People's Grocery continues to evolve and grow as we search for a new Executive Director, (please broadcast this widely). Farmer Brent has a new layout at the Sunol Farm so come see what's growing while the weather is so nice. Congratulations to newlyweds Brahm and Leah (now honeymooning on an island until the end of the month). Thank you's to all our summer interns and volunteers for their much appreciated time and energy.

We'd love for you to participate, click on the People's Grocery logo to go to our website "www.peoplesgrocery.org" to donate online, and find out about upcoming events, news, jobs, and ways to get involved.

We're looking for the next Executive Director!

As People’s Grocery progresses towards its greatest goal - a community grocery store in West Oakland – we are preparing for the eventual transition of our founding Executive Director, Brahm Ahmadi, as he turns his full-time focus to developing the retail business. Central to this transition will be the hiring of a new leader aligned with the mission, vision and values of People’s Grocery who is capable of leading the organization into an exciting and productive future. (No calls, please!)

Get Your Grub Boxes at Work or Home!

Designate your workplace or home as a Grub Box distribution site and help bring healthy, affordable food to at least 10 low-income families a week! People's Grocery will deliver locally grown fruits and vegetables, harvested just the day before right to your office or home.
Here's how it works:
People's Grocery will provide membership forms, materials, and even a representative to speak about the program at one of your staff meetings. The site coordinator will be primarily responsible for informing staff about the program and getting people to sign up. After that, People's Grocery will take care of the rest- as long as you maintain 10 people a week.
Requirements:
* At least 10 weekly subscribers, or 20 every other week, or any combination
* A cool place to hold Grub Boxes for delivery where people can access them (a back porch works great)
* Availability for Friday deliveries
* A site coordinator (that's you!)
To get started, contact Diana at (510) 652-7607 or diana@peoplesgrocery.org.
