Educators Conference Organizer
A contractor is sought to organize the 2012 Educators Conference hosted by the School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts in Seattle, WA from August 31 to September 3 2012.
The Conference Organizer works closely with the Conference Programmer, reports to the Executive Director and receives advice from the Event Supervision Committee. The responsibilities of the Conference Organizer are:
•Develop and manage event budget
•Recommend ticket pricing
•Organize additional ‘intensive’ programming outside the Conference as appropriate
•Arrange catering for event attendees
•Where appropriate, manage logistics of events held outside SANCA e.g. field trips, etc.
•Recommend appropriate event timing and structure in consultation with the Conference Programmer
•Ensure adequate provision of workshop locations, materials and technology
•Market the event through AYCO channels and help identify additional channels for successful marketing
•Marshall volunteers as necessary to assist with organizing the event
•Ensure adherence to AYCO safety policies
•Arrange insurance of event
•Provide assistance to conference attendees in arranging accommodation and transportation for the event
•At the event, oversee logistics, meals and registration to ensure that the conference operates smoothly
The contractor will receive a stipend plus success fee as well as travel and accommodation expenses to attend the 2012 Educators Conference.
Skills and experience sought:
•Knowledge of SANCA facilities and Seattle environs
•Previous attendance at AYCO national events
•Previous experience managing logistics for events
•Ability to liaise with AYCO office with 24 hour message turnaround
Educators Conference Programmer
A contractor is sought to create the program for the 2012 Educators Conference hosted by the School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts in Seattle, WA from August 31 to September 3 2012.
The Conference Programmer works closely with the Conference Organizer, reports to the Executive Director and receives advice from the Event Supervision Committee. The responsibilities of the Conference Organizer are:
•Plan the full program for the event, in consultation with the Event Supervision Committee
•Secure presenters and trainers for the event
•Liaise with the Conference Organizer to ensure facilities available match the planned program
•At the event, oversee the operation of the event programming and resolve any problems that arise
Skills and experience sought:
•Familiarity with the network of youth circus trainers
•Experience providing and/or receiving training as a youth circus professional
•Previous attendance at AYCO Educators Conference(s)
•Previous experience managing logistics for events
•Ability to liaise with AYCO office with 24 hour message turnaround
The contractor will receive a stipend plus success fee as well as travel and accommodation expenses to attend the 2012 Educators Conference.
