WMSS May 2010 eNews
By Joan Corbett, Executive Director
Volunteer Appreciation Lunch

Volunteers: Patricia Kriegler, Ellen Floyd, Cindy Knabe, Susan Conard
Great company, great food, great ambience, great time had by all! Held at Café Reyes in Point Reyes Station, the Volunteer Appreciation Lunch on April 6, 2010, was a delightful event with delicious salad, gourmet pizza and lots of friends. Here is a lovely note from Cindy and Ken Knabe that captures it all: “Thank you so much for the thoroughly delicious and delightful afternoon of thanks at Café Reyes! And on top of all that we came home with a very special hand-embroidered bag. You folks are so very good at what you do… and especially nice & kind & funny & sweet, to boot!! Love, Cindy & Ken”
Volunteers at Café Reyes
Special thanks to Jane Vait, Volunteer Coordinator; Chloe Cook, Meal Coordinator; Susan Conard, Chloe’s mother and volunteer extraordinaire who hand-embroidered gifts, and Cynthia Hammond, Executive Assistant, for putting on such a lovely event. Sign up to volunteer so you don’t miss out on the fun next year!

Senior Lunch Programs
Delicious, home-style lunches, art-filled walls, stimulating programs, and darn good company. That’s what we said about the San Geronimo weekly lunch. Now it’s time to make the Point Reyes Senior Lunch just as dynamic. We’re searching for “youthful older adults” who want to make the Point Reyes Lunch a vibrant weekly event. The Dance Palace (Nicole Kostelic), Rhea’s Homecare (Rhea McIsaac), and WMSS (Chloe Cook) are working together to make the lunch bigger and brighter, looking for volunteers to help set up, serve, clean up and bring friends to the lunch. The food is prepared by the Palace Market’s own local chef, Gloria Padilla. Donations are $2.00 for seniors - what a steal! Last week we had great music; Frederick Nighthawk provided the entertainment through Bread & Roses and pre-schoolers from Papermill Creek Children’s Corner joined in the fun. Call now (663-8148) and volunteer to help make this great every week.
