West Marin Senior Services has received some nice publicity recently in the Point Reyes Light and the West Marin Citizen.

Terri Sylvain delivering groceries
Letter to the Editor at Point Reyes Light:
Marty and Jean Knapp wrote a kind letter to the Point Reyes Light. They said…”During the recent illness of our friend Bob Van Cott, and since his death, we’ve become aware of the extraordinary support he received from West Marin Senior Services and in particular from Terri Sylvain who works there. Terri did most of the driving and errands for Bob. She became, in the two years that she helped him, one of the rare friends that Bob let into his life. Bob told us how fond he was of Terri and how much he appreciated her kindness and support…We in West Marin are blessed to have an organization with people who are so deeply compassionate and caring for us when we are in need. Because of this, Lola DeMaris (Bob’s sister) has requested donations in her brother Bob’s memory should be made to West Marin Senior Services so that they may continue the good works they do for our community.”
Thank you Marty and Jean for your kind words.
Gifting by Stinson Beach Firefighters as featured in the West Marin Citizen:

Kevin Daniel from Horizon Cable, Phil O’Brien and Ken Stevens of the Fire Department
Stinson Beach Firefighters Association purchased and delivered on Feb. 5, 2010 a 50-inch, flat-screen, plasma TV to West Marin Senior Services’ Stockstill House assisted living residence for seniors in Point Reyes Station. They also paid for a TV stand and a microwave oven, which were on the Stockstill House wish list. Kevin Daniel from Horizon Cable donated his services setting up the TV and cable.
Stinson Beach Fire Chief Kenny Stevens contacted WMSS Executive Director Joan Corbett last month with the idea of diverting extra funds raised by the firefighters association… Last year we donated to the Bolinas Stinson School District. “It was fun to do that for the school, and now we want to do something for the seniors who taught us everything over the years,” Stevens said. “It’s wonderful to give back to them.”
Thank you, Stinson Beach Fire Association, for your generous gift to the residents at Stockstill House.
