A Word From Our President
|
 |
|
Charles Gompertz
President, Board of Directors |
West Marin Senior Services is on the move!! We are working hard to become better known for what we do here in our part of Marin. For over 30 years we have worked to give older adults the option of staying in their homes. Emotional support, meals, care givers, home modifications, and other services allow independent living without diminishing their quality of life.
Today, we are establishing an awareness of our mission and work in each of the communities we serve, from Stinson Beach in the South to Dillon Beach in the North. Small communities like Marshall and larger ones like Inverness are each touched by our presence.
Our Area Coordinators are actively seeking referrals from local people, neighbors of seniors who can use our services. We charge a sliding fee for our services, and those who can afford little, pay little or nothing. We need the help of everyone who lives here to join us in volunteering, contributing money and referring those who need us. Please help us keep West Marin elders as independent as possible without diminishing their quality of life. Thank you!
– Charles Gompertz,
President, Board of Directors

| Lois Parks Celebrates 90th Birthday |
Lois Parks, a resident of Tomales, says, “A lot of my time has been taken up with visits to a doctor or exercising. I made twice weekly visits to a therapist for 3 months and kept up my twice a week exercise program for seniors. The result was good, because I can walk without a cane around the house and often forget to take it when I go out! The big event of the year for me was my 90th birthday party…and a chance to show off the new ramp to my cottage, which connects me to the [main] house... So far being 90 isn't too bad.” Lois is living a vital life, thanks to her daughter Sharon and her extended family.
