September is National Preparedness Month! This awareness month is designed to encourage individuals to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses, and communities.
With support from the San Francisco Foundation, American Red Cross, CARD (Collaborating Agencies Responding to Disaster) and VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) Canal Alliance is taking steps as an agency to make employees, clients and the Canal neighborhood as safe, prepared, and resilient as possible. In September, we will be providing a number of free trainings to the community.

Canal Alliance will be participating in the 22nd Annual Business Showcase of The San Rafael Chamber of Commerce. The event will take place this September 15th, 2010 from 3:30pm to 7:30pm at the Embassy Suites in San Rafael.
The event will feature close to 100 exhibitors and member businesses.
The greater San Rafael and Marin business community and the public are invited. Entrance admission is complimentary with a business card or $5 at Check-In. If you are interested in participating, please contact Gina Marr, Business Development & Events Manager at 415-454-4163

Canal Alliance Week of Caring September 13-18th
|

Week of Caring is a partnership between The Volunteer Centers of the Bay Area and United Way of the Bay Area. Employee volunteer teams are matched with fun and meaningful service projects at local nonprofit organizations.
It’s an enjoyable, free and an easy way for teams of employees to work together and create lasting change in their own communities.
This year at Canal Alliance, volunteers will be able to participate in our food bank distribution, as well as preparing healthy snacks for around 70 teens from our Youth Education & Development Program.
Last year’s participants included staff from Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, Wells Fargo and Compucoach

SUPPORT THE WEINREB CHALLENGE

We are pleased to announce that Marion Weinreb has recommended a dollar to dollar matching grant from the Weinreb Segal Family Fund of the Marin Community Foundation in support of Canal Alliance's Young Entrepreneur Project. With the Marion's Challenge, our goal is to raise $20,000 and advance this work further, for business education in our youth after-school programs.
