Science e-NewsBlast: April 2016
Dear CRS Member,
Congratulations to the
2015-16 CRS Science Super Star Teachers!
In recognition of the many challenges teachers face to include meaningful science and engineering lessons in the elementary classroom, the Science Super Star program celebrates the accomplishments of educators who successfully provide their students with creative, engaging, and high-quality science learning experiences throughout the year. These educators serve as inspiring role models as California schools transition to new science standards. Congratulations to this year's honorees!

  • The Cal Day Science Bonanza, sponsored by Science@Cal has something for everyone. Be a Rocket Scientist! Kids can be a rocket scientist at Cal Day! Stop by CRS’s table to make your own balloon-powered car using the same basic principles that send rockets to Mars. Then take the car home with you for more experiments!
  • Tour the Berkeley Natural History Museums and Berkeley's renowned research labs. Arrive early to register for a place on a Museum of Paleontology tour!
  • Tour the Space Sciences Laboratory, Lawrence Hall of Science and the Botanical Garden (take Hill Shuttle from Evans Hall east entrance)
April 16 - Citizen Science Day
Celebrate all the great projects that involve citizens in collecting and analyzing data. Kick off a project or explore what others are doing to plan for a future project. Go to to find projects that you and your students can take on.
