        “Honoring All Those Who Serve”

November 2018

Dear Friends and Family of OLGC,
I am writing to you to request your support of our Parish/School 2nd Annual Fund.  This year, we are seeking to raise $30,000 for all the necessary security upgrades and materials needed on our campus to make it a safer and more comfortable environment.  As you know, our campus buildings are used by our parish community for a variety of events – Masses, Religious Education, Prayer Services, Plays, Boy Scouts, Grandparents Day, School Assemblies, PTA fundraisers like Designer Bag Blingo, and many more events.
Many of our materials, such as doors and communication devices, are outdated and need to be replaced so we can secure our campus in the event of an emergency. Could you please contribute toward this effort?  We’ve raised a little over $2,000 currently, using an online campaign at, and through direct donations. We are hoping to have most of the upgraded materials in place for our highly attended Christmas events and Masses in December. All donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged with a letter for the IRS.  Please send your contribution to the parish office, or go online to and click on Donate Now! I’d like to invite you to our Primary Christmas Concert on Dec. 13 at 5 pm in our school gym, it is a heart-warming performance! I wish you and your family a very blessed Fall Season and Thanksgiving!
Yours in Christ,
Very Rev. Damian McElroy, V.F.

Also, documentation of names of students will be taken, that are waiting outside prior to 8:05.  Parents will be receiving the necessary contacts home as warnings.

  • Emergency Alert System for Parents

Good Counsel School uses the Honeywell Instant Alert System as our primary means of notification both for emergency school closings and also for general school announcements. Since the school intends to use the system for school announcements, it is recommended that parents revisit their alert setup and review which alert types (school closings, general) on which contact devices (home phone, work phone, mobile, cell text and/or email) they would like to receive information.  Parents may want to consider using all possible devices for school closings but only the home phone and email for general school announcements.
