BATTLE OF THE BOOKS
Our Battle of the Books program for Grades 7 & 8 will soon be starting. The program is
an exciting and challenging activity for students who enjoy reading. We meet on Thursdays in the school library, just one hour a week. We read, discuss the books, have mini-competitions – all to prepare for the regional competition in the spring.
I hope to see many of you at our introductory meeting on Thursday, October 19, from 3:00 to 4:00 in the school library. In the meantime, visit the library and check out one or more of the Battle of the Books titles to get a head start on reading!

A huge THANK YOU goes out to Lori McDonald and all of the Fun Walk volunteers and sponsors. Because of you, we have raised over $16,000! Thank you for all your help and support, our technology department is very happy!
Charger Cash has come to an end, and the winner of the $50 cash is The Sochanchak Family. Congratulations!
We would like to print the school directory, but there are still families who have not returned their forms. If you haven't sent in your form, which is on the school website, please do so or email firstname.lastname@example.org with your contact information - name, address, phone and email.
Go For the Gold is in full swing with tickets going on sale this week. We are still collecting homeroom donation envelopes, prizes, and sponsorship. The top three home rooms so far in the Battle of the Classrooms Contest are 2B, 5A, and 7B.
You can help this event by purchasing prizes, and by visiting the Iron Hill Brewery on October 19th. You can go for lunch or dinner- just make sure to have the coupon with you (found on the main page of the school website.)
Thank you all for all your support !!
