Dear OLGC Families,  

It comes with a heavy heart to announce the farewell of Ms. Erin Rutherford, Administrative Assistant.  We also congratulate her on her new position with TIAA, who found her skills to be impeccable. She has been embraced by all who have come into her path. She will be greatly missed, and her new journey will benefit immensely from all of her skills, talents, and most importantly her kindness and compassion. With much love and prayers, we thank Ms. Rutherford for her service and sharing her heart and mind with us.  Her last day with us here will be tomorrow Wednesday, November 28th. Many blessing to her and her family,  Fr. Damian, Fr. Jack, Dr. Chiarelli, and the OLGC Staff.

Our Lady of Good Counsel and the NJ Department of Education are dedicated to working to enhance the safety and security of our students and our school. Providing a school environment that permits students to feel safe and secure is a vital component of a child's education, and has become a major focus for educators across the country. Church Ramp Railing Installation Project will impact OLGC campus Tuesday to Thursday.

For Only Tonight (Tuesday) the Road off Main Street will be Blocked All night long due to the railing installation materials.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and you were able to enjoy some time with your family and friends. TIme for the mums and cornstalks to come down and the bright lights of Christmas to go up; the countdown to Christmas is here!  We have a lot of events coming up to help everyone get into the Christmas spirit. We hope you can join in on the fun.

The Secret Santa Shop is officially open Today through Friday, November 30th.  Please view the linked flyer for details as to when your child will be shopping. Please come out for a great night of fun.  Family Christmas Bingo is this Friday, November 30th from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM in the OLGC Cafeteria.  Admission is $10 per family and one inexpensive ornament per bingo player.  Families can play together or parents can drop off children and return at 8:15 PM for pick-up.  Please get your registrations in by TOMORROW, November 28th.  


The 8th graders are hosting a Holiday Hayride on December 6th from 6 PM to 8 PM at Johnson’s Farm in  Medford. Cost is $20 per person and includes a light show hayride, admission to Christmas Wonderland in the Barnyard, S’mores making and 3D glasses. All proceeds benefit the 8th-grade graduation activities.  Please view the linked flyer above for additional details. Registrations are due TOMORROW, November 28th.  Thank you in advance for your support.  

The PTA is hosting a Poinsettia Sale just in time for holiday decorating and gift giving!  Different colors and sizes are available. Orders are due by Friday, November 30th and will be available for pick-up at the Heritage House on December 7th & 8th.  Forms went home with all students but you may download a form at the link above and send in via your child’s backpack.


Looking for a few good bakers to help out with donating some mini desserts.  If you are able, please email

Wednesday, December 5th is OLGC Day at Roselli's. All proceeds will benefit OLGC’s Designer Bag Bingo event.  Pick up an entrée or any food item at Roselli’s to make your life easier and/or provide a delicious meal for your family, friends, neighbors, a Christmas party or a donation to Catholic Charities. Casseroles are being collected throughout December and will be kept in the Heritage House for those in need. You can pick up a casserole pan at Family Bingo this Friday night! Frozen casseroles can be returned directly to the Heritage House. Please consider ordering your meal from Roselli’s (details above) and help our school as well!  If you are unable to attend Bingo but would like a pan, please contact Deena Daloisio



Join us for a little Christmas shopping while supporting the annual OLGC Fashion Show! On Thursday, December 6th from 1:00-4:00 at the Heritage House, India Hicks - a collection of well-crafted gifts, beauty, and accessories, will be on display to browse and order. OLGC CHARGERS SPIRIT WEAR is ON SALE NOW!  All items are available via  There are many items to choose from and many could make great Christmas gifts!!!  Hurry and get your orders in. Also, students will be able to wear their OLGC spirit wear every half-day Friday in lieu of their regular uniform shirt.  The only exception is May 3rd because we have the May Crowning.

AS A REMINDER:  In an ongoing effort to keep your children safe, please be advised, that your child is not permitted to wait by the school entrance doors before 8:05; there is no supervision before this time.  Please note temperature drops with winter season and other weather concerns. Also, documentation of names of students will be taken, that are waiting outside prior to 8:05.  Parents will be receiving the necessary contacts home as warnings.

Good Counsel School uses the Honeywell Instant Alert System as our primary means of notification both for emergency school closings and also for general school announcements. Since the school intends to use the system for school announcements, it is recommended that parents revisit their alert setup and review which alert types (school closings, general) on which contact devices (home phone, work phone, mobile, cell text and/or email) they would like to receive information.  Parents may want to consider using all possible devices for school closings but only the home phone and email for general school announcements.
